The golden apple trees in the west of Hera’s garden are protected by the Hesperides, goddess-nymphs, and a 100-headed dragon. Some say these apples give the sunset its golden hue. When the apples are removed from the garden, they don’t fair so well – for example, being accused of starting the Trojan War. So it’s best that we simply watch the reflections of golden apples, but if we’re quiet, we might just hear Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena pleading with Paris…
